Vera Wang

Vera Wang is an American fashion designer and the founder and creative director of her namesake company. After competing in figure skating, she studied at Sarah Lawrence College and spent seventeen years at American Vogue, eventually becoming a senior fashion editor. She then worked as a design director at Ralph Lauren before opening a bridal salon at New York's Carlyle Hotel in 1990. Wang reshaped modern celebrity and luxury bridal dressing and extended her design language across ready-to-wear and licensed categories. Her founder role is kept distinct from the manufacturers and retailers that operate individual licences.
