Sam Tick

Sam Tick was a Polish-born Canadian entrepreneur who founded Metro Sportswear in Toronto in 1957, the company that became Canada Goose. The early factory produced practical woollen vests, raincoats and snowmobile suits for the Canadian market. Tick's son-in-law David Reiss later introduced down-filling equipment and developed the Snow Goose label, while grandson Dani Reiss renamed and internationalised the company. Sam Tick is therefore recorded as the original business founder; the engineering, brand transition, public listing and current executive leadership associated with later family generations remain separate contributions.
