Fashion career profile

Renzo Rosso

Renzo Rosso is an Italian fashion entrepreneur and the founder and chairman of OTB Group. In 1978 he founded Diesel, building the label around denim and an alternative point of view on casualwear; in 1985 he acquired complete control of the brand. In 2002 he established OTB as a holding group for Diesel and future fashion-house investments. OTB’s portfolio has since included labels such as Maison Margiela, Marni, Jil Sander and Viktor&Rolf, alongside operating companies Staff International and Brave Kid. Rosso also founded OTB Foundation in 2006. His career illustrates the distinction between leading a label and governing its parent group: the Diesel founding record and OTB chairmanship are separate roles, and OTB-level corporate or financial information should not be attributed to Diesel alone.
