Raul Lopez

Raul Lopez is the Brooklyn-based American designer and Founder and Creative Director of LUAR. Of Dominican descent, Lopez grew up in New York and began designing as a teenager before co-founding Hood By Air. He later established LUAR as an independent label whose name reverses his own. His work connects the visual energy of New York with Dominican heritage, using accessories, ready-to-wear, proportion and styling to build a highly recognisable fashion language. The Ana Bag is among the label’s signatures. Lopez was a finalist for the 2018 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund and for the 2023 LVMH Prize.
