LUAR

LUAR is the New York label of Brooklyn-based designer Raul Lopez, a co-founder of Hood By Air. The name is Raul spelled backwards, and the label connects the visual energy of New York with Lopez’s Dominican heritage. LUAR works across ready-to-wear and accessories; its Ana Bag has become a defining product, while the wider collections use proportion, tailoring and expressive styling to develop a distinct point of view. Lopez is Founder and Creative Director. The page records that independent authorship directly and keeps it separate from Hood By Air and from awards or retail recognition, which do not establish ownership or financial performance. LUAR was a finalist for the 2023 LVMH Prize.
