Jean-Luc Diard

Jean-Luc Diard is a French sports executive, runner and co-founder of HOKA. After senior product and leadership work at Salomon, he joined Nicolas Mermoud in pursuing a shoe that could help endurance athletes descend faster while reducing fatigue. They founded HOKA in France in 2009 and developed an unconventional combination of oversized cushioning, lightweight construction and rocker geometry. Diard's experience connected athlete use, engineering and commercial product strategy at the company's origin. His role is recorded alongside Mermoud as a co-founder; later Deckers ownership, current management and Deckers' listed financial perimeter remain separate relationships.
