Haider Ackermann
Haider Ackermann is a Colombian-born, French-based fashion designer whose career spans an independent label and senior roles at Berluti, TOM FORD and Canada Goose. After studying at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp, he worked in fashion studios before launching his own label in 2001; its first Paris collection followed in 2002. His sculptural tailoring and layered colour drew attention to the label, which paused production in 2020. Ackermann led Berluti from 2016 to 2018, then was appointed Creative Director of TOM FORD in 2024 with a broad fashion remit. Canada Goose named him its first Creative Director in May 2024, adding an active role focused on the outerwear company’s creative vision. The label-founder record is therefore separated from his historical design work, and the two current house appointments are linked to their respective brands. Ackermann’s path is unusual in moving from an independent Paris design practice to creative leadership across both luxury fashion and a technical outerwear business.
