Évelyne Chétrite

Évelyne Chétrite is the French founder and Artistic Director of Sandro. She grew up in Rabat, Morocco, around the colours, kaftans and tailored shirts that later informed her relationship to clothing. After moving to Paris as a teenager, she studied law and developed a fashion instinct through weekend work in vintage shops. With her husband Didier Chétrite, she founded Sandro in 1984. Chétrite has led the women’s collections since the house’s creation and also serves as SMCP’s Deputy General Manager and a director, with responsibility for Sandro’s design policy and marketing strategy.
