Retail intelligence
Nordstrom
Nordstrom is the US fashion retailer founded in 1901 as a Seattle shoe store by John W. Nordstrom. It now serves customers through Nordstrom stores, Nordstrom Local, Nordstrom Rack and digital channels, with a broad offer across fashion, shoes, accessories, beauty, home and services. The company returned to private ownership in 2025 following its acquisition by the Nordstrom family and El Puerto de Liverpool. Nordstrom’s assortment is selected and serviced by a retailer; it does not confer creative authorship, ownership or universal exclusivity over the brands carried. This distinction also applies to data: a designer’s presence, a shop-in-shop or a campaign is time-bound retail information, while Nordstrom’s company results are not evidence of the sales, profitability or valuation of an individual fashion house. The profile records the retailer’s operating model and corporate context without collapsing those separate layers.
