Bloomingdale's

Bloomingdale’s is the US upscale department-store retailer founded in New York in 1872 by brothers Joseph and Lyman Bloomingdale. Its East Side Bazaar helped establish the department-store model, and its 59th Street flagship remains central to a network that combines designer fashion, accessories, beauty, jewellery, home and digital commerce. Bloomingdale’s is a division of Macy’s, Inc.; that ownership must be distinguished from the retailer’s own assortment and from the companies whose products it sells. A designer department, product page, marketing story or temporary shop signals a retail relationship, not brand ownership, creative direction, investment or guaranteed long-term availability. Macy’s, Inc. reports corporate performance across several nameplates, including Macy’s and Bluemercury, so consolidated figures cannot be presented as Bloomingdale’s-only revenue, earnings, store productivity or brand-level performance unless a disclosure expressly isolates them.
