Fashion career profile
Reem Acra
Reem Acra is a Lebanese-American fashion designer whose work spans bridal, eveningwear and ready-to-wear. She studied business at the American University of Beirut, then pursued fashion studies at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York and ESMOD in Paris. In 1997 she launched her namesake line in New York, initially establishing it in the bridal market; she expanded into ready-to-wear in 2003. Her approach brings Lebanese heritage into dialogue with a modern, international vocabulary, and her collections continue to cover bridal and seasonal ready-to-wear. Acra’s professional work also extends beyond her label: the Council of Fashion Designers of America records her membership and lists civic and industry roles, including her 2019 appointment as a Goodwill Ambassador for Tamanna. That ambassador role is separate from her design position and philanthropic support. This profile keeps her education, label launches and public service distinct, and avoids turning runway credits or celebrity wearers into employment claims.
