Phoebe Philo
Phoebe Philo is a British fashion designer and the founder and Artistic Director of her independent fashion company. She graduated from Central Saint Martins in 1996 and joined Chloé, where she became Creative Director in 2001. Philo led Chloé until 2006, then returned to Paris in 2008 as Creative Director of Céline. Her work at Céline, which concluded in 2017, reshaped the house’s ready-to-wear and accessories and became an influential reference point in contemporary luxury fashion. She was appointed an OBE in 2014. After several years away from a house role, Philo announced her independent company in 2021 and launched its first collection in 2023. The label continues to publish collections and sell products through its own site. Her independent practice follows two distinct creative-director chapters at Chloé and Céline.
