Peter Hawkings
Peter Hawkings is a British fashion designer whose career is closely associated with Tom Ford. After art studies in Brighton, he completed a first-class honours degree at Middlesex University and postgraduate study at Central Saint Martins. Hawkings joined Gucci in 1998 and worked with Ford there before moving with him to the TOM FORD label, where he became a senior menswear design leader. He was appointed Creative Director of TOM FORD Fashion in April 2023, following Ford’s departure from the fashion role. The Estée Lauder Companies announced Hawkings’ departure in July 2024. His creative directorship was a completed appointment in the fashion operation, distinct from the TOM FORD beauty business. His long studio relationship with Ford spans the Gucci and TOM FORD chapters, including senior menswear design work before he took the top creative role.
