Fashion career profile

Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski

French fashion designer Nadège Vanhée-Cybulski is Artistic Director of Hermès women’s ready-to-wear. She graduated from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp in 2003 and studied at the Institut Français de la Mode. Her studio career spans Delvaux, Maison Martin Margiela, Céline under Phoebe Philo, and The Row, where she was women’s design director. Hermès appointed her in July 2014; she presented her first collection for the house in March 2015 for Autumn/Winter 2015. Her remit is specifically women’s ready-to-wear within a house whose creative work is distributed across separate métiers and led overall by Pierre-Alexis Dumas. The Hermès role followed senior studio work in Paris and New York, and has become one of the longest current creative-director tenures among major European fashion houses. Her collections draw on the house’s equestrian heritage while developing a contemporary women’s wardrobe; they sit alongside distinct creative leadership for men’s ready-to-wear, silk, accessories, beauty and other métiers.
