Fashion career profile

Masaba Gupta

Masaba Gupta is an Indian fashion designer and entrepreneur who founded House of Masaba in 2009, at age 19, after graduating from SNDT Women’s University. She debuted at Lakmé Fashion Week and built a design language around vivid colour, graphic prints and a contemporary reworking of Indian dress. The house has expanded from apparel into bridal, festive and resort wear, jewellery and beauty, giving Gupta a broader creative and business role than a single ready-to-wear label. In 2022, Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail acquired a 51 percent stake in the House of Masaba business through a strategic partnership; the same year, LoveChild by Masaba launched as its beauty extension. The partnership and the separate product line should not be confused with Gupta’s individual professional identity: she remains profiled as the designer and founder, while the company is part of ABFRL’s portfolio. Recent 2026 coverage describes her continuing work across the fashion and beauty businesses and her participation in the RLC Fashion Summit in Milan. This profile emphasizes the documented design and company-building history, rather than treating her entertainment work as a substitute for fashion-career detail.
