Laura Lowena-Irons
Laura Lowena-Irons is a British fashion designer and co-founder of the London-based label Chopova Lowena with Emma Chopova. The designers met at Central Saint Martins, where they studied fashion before completing a joint master’s course. Founded in 2017, their label combines Bulgarian folkloric references and traditional craft with sportswear, recycled fabrics and deadstock materials. Lowena-Irons shares creative leadership of the house with Chopova; their roles are recorded in parallel to make that joint authorship clear. The pair were LVMH Prize finalists and received the 2024 BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund. Their practice has grown from a distinctive textile-led design language into an internationally recognised independent label while retaining its focus on craft and reuse.
