Fashion career profile
Laura Lowena
Laura Lowena is a British fashion designer and co-founder of Chopova Lowena, the London label she leads with Emma Chopova. The two designers met while studying fashion at Central Saint Martins, then completed the MA course together before launching their label in 2018. Their collaborative practice combines Lowena’s interest in uniform, print and sportswear with Chopova’s Bulgarian cultural references and textile knowledge. Collections bring folkloric craft into conversation with contemporary clothing, often using deadstock and recycled materials and working with skilled artisans in Bulgaria. Chopova Lowena became a finalist for the 2020 LVMH Prize and developed from a young London studio into a regular runway presence. Lowena’s role is recorded as shared creative leadership, not as the sole designer of the house. The profile links her career to Chopova Lowena and keeps the partnership distinct from the separate person record for Emma Chopova.
