Fashion career profile

Chet Lo

Chet Lo is an Asian American fashion designer from New York who works in London. He graduated from Central Saint Martins’ BA Knitwear course in 2020, having moved to London for study in 2015. Knitwear is central to his practice: his sculptural, often spiked surfaces use texture and colour to make familiar garments feel tactile and bodily. After his first collections, Lo joined Fashion East’s young-designer platform and the British Fashion Council’s NEWGEN scheme. His studio describes a process built around sampling, craft and limited production, with much of the work developed in-house and produced in Italy. Lo’s designs have been worn by musicians and performers including Dua Lipa, SZA and Doja Cat, helping bring the label to a wider audience. This profile records his education and development through Fashion East and NEWGEN without turning those support programmes into employer roles.
