Ann Demeulemeester
Ann Demeulemeester is a Belgian fashion designer and the co-founder of her namesake house. She graduated from Antwerp's Royal Academy of Fine Arts and became associated with the Antwerp Six, whose London presentations helped bring Belgian fashion international recognition. With Patrick Robyn, she established the company in 1985 and developed a vocabulary of black and white, asymmetric tailoring, layered transparency and close connections to music and poetry. Demeulemeester led the house until 2013 and has since pursued independent creative projects while the brand continues under new ownership.
