Alexandre Mattiussi
Alexandre Mattiussi is a French fashion designer and the founder and Creative Director of AMI Paris. Born in 1980, he studied fashion design at École Duperré in Paris, specialising in menswear. He developed his tailoring experience on Dior’s 30 Montaigne men’s line before joining Givenchy as first menswear assistant in 2004. He later worked on Marc Jacobs Men, moving between Paris, Milan and New York. Mattiussi established AMI in Paris in 2010, building a wardrobe around relaxed tailoring and everyday clothing rather than runway formality alone. The name plays on the French word for friend and his own initials. He received the ANDAM Grand Prize in 2013, a milestone that helped bring wider attention to the young house. His present role combines founding and creative leadership at AMI; the earlier studio positions are distinct career chapters, not additional current appointments.
